One Year Already......

I can’t believe a year has passed
Since, my sweet son, I saw you last.
I miss you each and every day
And that will never go away.

The memories that we made through time
Are etched so clearly in my mind.
And every single thought of you
Is filled with all the love we knew.

When  you were born “A Boy!” I cried.
My soul was so contained with pride.
So precious and so sweet, my first.
I felt as if my heart would burst!

By the time you reached age two,
All the football teams you knew.
Sports were in your DNA.
You loved them all. What can I say?

Throughout your teens, I must convey,
That baseball’s what you liked to play.
I loved to watch you on the field.
More precious memories we would build.

Then you became a man, my son.
Adulthood for you had begun.
I couldn’t have been more proud of you
For choosing to be a “man in blue”.

You served and you protected all
No matter when or where the call.
You were the best at what you did
And everybody loved my kid!

You gave me Cam and Madi too.
For that I give my thanks to you!
They are the bond, they are the glue
They lift my heart when I am blue.

Now rest in peace my precious one.
You’ll always be my only son.
One year without you makes me cry
But I can never say “Goodbye”.
